Last one out - blow the candles out............

We went out to the golf club for a meal and party with a group of friends to say 'Goodbye' to the old year and 'Hello' to the new one.
The meal was absolutely superb and the company was great. There were 100 people in the place all having uproarious time.
Then the band started!
All conversation stopped and the headaches started.
Why do they think it necessary it use enough volume to fill a stadium when they are in a low roofed, small hall?
After 15 minutes I had to leave and sit in the foyer ........ where conversation still had to be conducted as a shout.
Everyone was complaining about the volume and despite being asked it wasn't turned down.
By 10.30pm all our group were back at one of the houses (400 yards away where you could still hear the band).
I don't think there were many left to see midnight.
The band wont be invited back.
Personally, I would have pulled the plug and told them they were not getting paid when they didn't turn it down when asked by staff.
It killed the night.
Well, it killed it in the club - we had a great time over at H's!
