A lovely day

I had a little expedition this day.

I went to meet a friend in newcastle.

Tickets for the train purchased the night before and social media telling me to check my journey and probably best not travel. However nothing was going to stop me meeting my friend, not even a landslide at haydon bridge.

Checking the journey there was no train to Hexham but buses were running for essential travel. Well mine was essential.

We had a date with a watering can full of ice cubes and not much else! a couple of shots of something and a glass of wine, ,maybe two! There wasn't much alcohol for the price but it was very nice, very moreish and we enjoyed it.

We moved on and the rest was a little more reasonable, a couple of mulled wines, large G &T and the afternoon had gone it was time to make our way back to the train station to catch the train back to hexham and then bus back home.

It was a lovely day, a little cold but we had a lovely lunch at nando's followed by our little tipples. My teenage daughter and boyfriend went shopping so it was a good afternoon all round.

We were slightly flabbergasted at the queue of people outside a shop who were queuing for a raffle ticket to win a pair of trainers. Not to be drawn till the next day and some people had even camped out for a ticket! Mad.

The bus delivered us safely home. A good day out. Thank you my friend for a lovely day. Xx
