Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2015 Tuesday -- Kennedy Center Awards

The Kennedy Center Awards this evening were spectacular!

Our home is almost never without music, and if someone were keeping track, the past 50 years we've played more Carole King music than any other.

Aretha Franklin brought the audience to their feet singing Carole's "Natural Woman."

I love that "Lennon & McCartney wanted to be just like Goffin & King."

James Taylor singing "Up on the Roof" -- Wow! She & Goffin wrote that. My daddy played that on the coffee shop jukebox early one morning after he delivered the LA Times through the streets of Downey, Lakewood, and Bellflower from his Nash Rambler station wagon and I, as a preteen, rode along.

Carole King has written and sung many of the tunes on the soundtrack of my life.

Earlier in the show amazing tribute was given to Jesus Christ as Cicely Tyson's story was told.

The entire program was excellent and the honorees were so amazing. Great night!
