Amazing, amazing day and impossible to sum up in one image...

We began by 'starting' off the annual 'fun' walk of 46kms for a crowd of 5000 very enthusiastic participants. We then hiked the most impressive canyon and climbed high up its walls with the help of some spectacular engineering (think walkways on the side of cliffs that really couldn't/shouldn't be there), explored a Buddhist temple inside a cave and took afternoon tea at a boutique hotel overlooking this view complete with a swaying bamboo forest. It was exquisite.

The evening we were guests at the show to celebrate the end of the walk - staged on the actual river itself that was now being kept back by the dam, where the performances consisted of 'boy bands', ballet dancers, street gymnasts, opera singers and of course fireworks! 

We were enthralled!
