Downside Abbey

Regular readers may recall that Elder Son reached the end of his tether and left his job of 7 years in June. After several months out of work, he landed the job he really wanted just days before going on holiday to China, and he started work in mid-October. He's an apprentice with a firm of accountants just outside Stratton-on-the-Fosse and he absolutely loves it! He went back to work today after a 5-day Christmas break and was intending to go by bus as he usually does, but it was lashing down with rain so I offered him a lift. 

The firm is in a converted farm building that's about half a mile up a track from the main road. If he turns his head as he walks up the drive, he can look across the fields and, at this time of year, catch a glimpse of Downside Abbey. It's far better than being stuck in a supermarket for 8 hours a day!
