I am an idiot

So, about 18 months ago I bought myself a new badminton racket, played with it for a few months, then we stopped playing for a few months. When we started playing again I'd forgotten that I had the new bat and have been paying with the old crappy one for nearly a year, because I am an idiot.

Last week I found the new bat again , and played with it tonight - if I say so myself, I was like a new woman on the court! Well, I was a bit better than usual. Marginally.
