The sun came out today after all the rain

A lovely day in town with our youngest - he chose the wrong day, yesterday, to run from Joppa to the top of Arthur's Seat and back through the New Hailes estate - 13 miles in total. Had he gone today he would have been able to see to the very middle of Fife to the north and to Carter Bar to the south from the summit.

The blocked drains here are nothing compared with what is happening in the latest part of the UK to be hit by appalling floods.  The only good thing about the latest deluge is that it has has not fallen, as forecast, on Cumbria. Thank goodness.
