The quick way to the bottom

The Grand Canyon isn't the biggest canyon in the world but it is hugely impressive because of the colours contained within the rocks. To travel the entire distance of the canyon requires a trip of 277 miles along the Colorado River and the canyon walls are rising between 5,000 and 6,000 feet above.

It would take days to drive to the end of the canyon and travel to this point or alternatively it would be several hours on a donkey to get down to the canyon floor and take a boat along the Colorado or the second quickest way (and certainly the way that allows you also travel upwards again) is by helicopter from the top to the bottom in just 10 minutes. It's a truly amazing feeling to be flying a couple of hundred feet above the ground and then as you pass over the canyon walls suddenly have a 5,000 feet drop below the window.

The quickest way down has apparently been done by 56 people who definitely don't make the return trip and that is the free-fall method so it's fair to say that this way down was the best time-saver of them all!

I'm guessing this will be my blip challenge entry for the week.
