Saturday: Debris

At some point over the Christmas holidays, we tend to lose control of our environment, with debris and presents all over the place.  Never mind, plenty of time to clean up in the next few days.

Today, we had Vicki over for another slap up meal.  We are all fans of the radio programme, Desert Island Discs, and ages ago decided that we were going to have our own version today.  The interviewee, wearing the Christmas hat, sat in the hot chair and was interviewed by the other three (known as Kirsty 1, Kirsty 2, and Kirsty 3 - after Kirsty Young, the current presenter), sharing details of our eight most important tracks.

For my own record, here were my eight (I should add that choices in the show are usually ones that evoke particular memories, rather than necessarily being favourite tracks, although obviously there is an element of both coming into it)

Track 1
Track 2
Track 3 - 'Anchorage', Michelle Shocked (not on YouTube)
Track 4
Track 5
Track 6
Track 7
Track 8

The track I would save from the waves: Number 6
Book: 'A Suitable Boy' by Vikram Seth
Luxury: My little pillow

Having had an entertaining couple of hours doing this, we then ended the day by re-watching '84, Charing Cross Road', a wonderful movie for any time of year.
