Be Prepared
It's Christmas Eve and I am home alone. Budapest boy and Luca have been and gone, and His Lordship is out meeting his daughter. The youngsters will be back shortly to go out with us for a meal in the evening, and His Lordship will also return fairly soon in a good mood....... not too good I hope, as he has to ration his intake of good mood to leave room for more of the same tonight.
That leaves me with a quiet moment to sit and listen to the carols on Classic FM. The King's College Carol Service has been taped in case I miss it. Over the years, it has always been my ritual to listen to it on Christmas Eve as I prepare food for the festivities.
Everything is under control for the Christmas dinner tomorrow : the soup has been made, the turkey prepared for his big occasion, the table set, and dare I say it, things seem under control.
I must remember to put out my stocking tonight and leave a wee night cap for Santa. I still believe you know!
