You can't see me !
Oh yes we can ......
When asked to join my hubby, kneeling on soggy grass, staring at the side of the car I thought he was mad. However, I copied him and gazed at the car. All I could see were the scratches left when a member of jo-public kindly scraped past our car in the local car park and then drove off !!
A slight movement led my eye to the little white blobs on the top of the tyre..... "faecal sacks" points out hubby. Then to the left .. nodding and shuffling ... appeared a baby thrush. There was just time to grab a camera and take a blip before mum/dad began calling from the next garden. We retreated and watched the family reunite and fly off into the sunset ... well not quite as it was early morning.
It was so lucky that hubby had spotted the fledgeling before he got into the car to drive away. I have no idea if the young bird would have been able to fly out of the wheel arch in time.
However, the anger over the scraped car was forgotten (temporarily), as with silly smiles on our faces and soggy mud on our knees we rushed off to check the blip ....
