To be a pilgrim on The Way of St Andrews
There are few times in the past 14 years where the opportunity has presented itself to escape from family life, so today will be memorable for that reason.
I woke early and was at leisure, reading via the iPad in bed, when I was seized with an idea to take off on a Pilgrimage. No calling, or anything of any religious significance or anything like that, just a need for some exercise and a curiosity about the happening. You can read about it on my Craigwell Cottage blog.
The photograph selected for my blip today shows the BBC Scotland reporter, Huw Williams, interviewing Cardinal Keith O'Brien before the Pilgimage set off from the city centre to South Queensferry.
I enjoyed meeting the group of 6 ladies who were going to walk the whole route. And Francisco from Cuba who had joined in after hearing about it in Church this morning.
If you follow the link on the blog you may be amused to imagine what happened to the journalist after we'd all stopped briefly for refreshments at the Cramond Inn en route.
I wish those who undertake the whole pilgrimage well on their journey to St Andrews.
