Popped into the George of Stamford for our annual visit. So special for many reasons, not least my working here in the 60's as a chef but also because of the fabulous Christmas decorations that adorn the public areas (see extras). The George of Stamford was - and still is - one of England's greatest coaching inns. The exact age of The George is not known but historians believe it dates back as far as 947 A.D. For those of you who are really interested here is some History. This is where I cooked for The Beatles and Princess Ann amongst others! This shot is of one of the private dining rooms, all set for lunch!
