Tree Tops

It was time to get up to my most favorite because it is closest, Mt. Si 8 mile round trip hike. The trail is fairly steep and steady. My husband is still not in hiking shape from his long bout of infection that invaded last winter (for which he is still being treated as it is not gone yet) so I went solo.

The IPhone Voice Memo helped me work out different haiku's and actually remember them; this playing with words in a 5/7/5 syllable structure is like drawing for me, while walking. Here is one of the 4 from today:


Stilled and quiet now
The tree tops glisten with day's rain
All is wet and damp


For the record, it was a very wet day here - the weather people say this is to change and that by Sunday it will be in the mid-70's. Hardly seems fair in comparison to the rest of the nation's temperatures and droughts.
