We had booked Little Miss S and her best friend in to Southend Soccer School for the day. That was a very weird experience, leaving them somewhere with people they had never met and children they didn't know! But they seemed to enjoy themselves. I thought it was all about training but it turns out it was all about playing matches against each other. My poor girl got a ball in the face which resulted in her biggest nosebleed to date. She didn't cry, she just washed it off her face and got back on with playing. The coaching staff said she's a tough little cookie. And if anything it has now fueled her need to find a girls team so she can get better and beat the boys! She got to meet most of the Southend United team in the afternoon and got even more autographs, and yet still said nothing to any of them. And then to top off her day she went rifle shooting with the Explorer Scouts. She came 8th out of 11 but she reckons by the time she's an Explorer she will be either 1st or 2nd. Trust my girl to be ever the optimist!
