Ever decreasing circles

21st December 2015

We went out for a family lunch followed by Christmas food shopping. We asked the in-laws over for Christmas dinner and they wanted to buy the turkey, so two weeks ago we told them what size frozen turkey to buy. They have a bigger freezer than us so storing it was no problem for them. That is until we got the phone call today to say that they had been shopping TODAY and can't find one in Tesco, Aldi and somewhere else (I gave up listening as I had lost the will to live by this time). I should've bought it myself and dropped it over to their house to store it. I won't rely on them to shop again. And we told them we had already got Christmas crackers so they decided to buy some more. Of course 6 people will need 24 crackers on Christmas Day, and a vegetarian roast dinner! Thankfully there were 3 frozen turkeys left in Lidl today so 1 is now in the in-laws freezer. And instead of giving them instructions on when to get it out the freezer, I'm going over there myself to get it before they bugger it up again. This is the 3rd year of them coming to us for Christmas and it could be their last; I think they've forgotten how to do the Christmas shop.

Little Miss S went to air rifle practice with Cubs and Scouts and has now been asked to go back tomorrow night to compete against the Explorers with 3 Scouts. My little Cub is a sharp shooter! She even won the competition to shoot the wicks off two candles without hitting the candle with two shots. She really is going to grow up to be the next real James Bond!
