Mud, mud, glorious mud!!!
OMG! Today has just been sooooooo busy!
Ann woke me up in the middle of the night OK it wasn’t the middle of the night; it was 7am to go for my morning walk. It was pitch black outside and it was pouring with rain. Walking in the dark, in the rain, on my lead, is no fun for a gorgeous little collie like me. And even less fun for a middle aged owner like Ann?? We both got soaked through to our skin.
Then Ann said, ‘Molly, I’m off to work now. You can have snooze time in your bed. I’ll be back at lunchtime, the rain will have stopped by then and we’ll go somewhere nice this afternoon.’
Well, the rain never stopped all day. Ann wasn’t back by lunchtime because things turned a bit busy at work for her. And then; when she did come home................ instead of going straight out for my walk, she said; ‘Molly the boys at work have told me that I need a new tyre on my car.’
Ann loves the STAR boys. We’re going on a long journey on Wednesday and today they checked her car over for her. Oil, water, screen wash, tyres, etc.
So instead of going straight out for my walk we had to go to the ‘Tyre Shop’. While the ‘Tyre Shop’ was putting on a new tyre for us I got a little walk around the block on my lead. Ann thought I might be desperate for a wee & a poo. I wasn’t – I like to save my wee’s & poo’s up for proper walks??!! OK, OK, TMI???
New tyre all sorted and Ann said, ‘Molly, we might as well go down the river for your walk.’ I like it down the river and we haven’t been there for ages. Fortunately Ann put her wellies on. Our river walk this afternoon was just mud, mud, and even more mud. And we didn’t see one single other person or dog. Obviously no other doggies and their owners are stupid enough to walk along the river in weather like this?? Also the river was really high. In places it had burst it’s banks.
Ann had already told me that after our river walk we were going to Tesco. I don’t like going to Tesco. I just have to sit in the car and wait! But do you know what?.............. After our walk she said, ‘Molly, I’m too wet, too cold, too muddy, too tired, can’t be bothered.’ Apparently Ann has the job of making a load of canapés for Christmas. And the only days she has available for ‘canapés ingredient shopping is today & Thursday. So now she’s going to have to do all her ‘canapés shopping on Christmas Eve???? Mmmmmm...................... I bet she’ll be a bit grumpy on Christmas Eve if she’s got to do Tesco shopping????
Anyway, as far as I’m concerned, all’s well that ends well..........................
I’ve had a fantastic afternoon. You should have seen how muddy I was at the end of my walk. No Ann didn’t even think of Blipping me because her main priority was cleaning me???
I LOVE mud!!!
