The entrance to the left of the Mercedes place is the 'restaurant/night club' where 19 people lost their lives because of a Molotov cocktail thought to be caused by a disgruntled ex-employee - 18 people died on this date and one more body was discovered a week later. The British Council where I work is just 60 metres to the right. Agouza, the area (despite appearances) is an upmarket area in Cairo, and these buildings face the Nile. I couldn't quite believe it when our driver this afternoon drove past and pointed it out to us.
