The Sleeping Giant

Some people said that Longman's Hill covered the body of an ancient giant. And some said that the giant was not dead but sleeping and that he would rise again when Albion was in its moment of greatest need. And others said that the hill was an anomalous outcrop of limestone and was the last remaining evidence of a vanished inland sea.
Ben clutched his torch. He had found a cave between the giant's "toes" and he was determined to explore. Ben had heard the stories and he was a romantic. He was hoping to find some really interesting limestone formations.
No one is as romantic as a romantic geologist.
