Podiatry

Since August, Euan has been waiting for an appointment to come through to see the podiatrist regarding his tiptoe walking. We finally attended the appointment this morning. Much fun was had with the bed/chair and the podiatrist was happy to let them while she got her questions asked and her forms filled in. After examination, it was noted that the achilles and calf muscle in his right leg were very tight in comparison to his left. After watching him walk up and down the corridor a few times (he needed to do it more than once as he was being rather silly) the podiatrist lay him on the bed and measured his legs. It turns out that his right leg is 2cm shorter than his left so he has been compensating. He is home with a heel raise insole in his right shoe, some stretching exercises and a referral to orthotics. I am happy to know that I wasn't just being a paranoid parent!
