Last Posting Day for...........

You wouldn't put a dog out on a day like today: it has never become fully light and everything is hanging in a enveloping shroud of moisture. If it's not actually raining, then there is a constant smirr of invisible raindrops soaking hats and jackets. It is a cheerless and miserable start to the week after the crisp, bright day yesterday, and only made bearable by a local shopping expedition which unfortunately did include a scone tasting to keep the spirits up.

Somehow we have arrived at the 14th and suddenly Christmas Day is next week. There is a hiatus in preparations. It is too soon to buy fresh festive food or prepare any meals  and so this is a week of relative peace.
The lights are on, the heating rumbles comfortingly in the background but it's not quite time for slippers- I have to brave the weather this afternoon to visit my friend o.m.ts.

Today is the last posting day for the Czech Republic, Germany, Italy and Poland.
