Unexpected beach
Day 2 of the round the island running race was from Brighstone back to Cowes.
We started early at 7am and the first surprise was a man playing bagpipes on top of the cliffs at 8am in the morning! Why not I suppose?
So lucky it was another beautiful day, still rather windy but once we got past the Needles hurrah the wind was behind us.
Again beautiful and very mixed scenery but today's blip had quite an unexpected, almost tropical feel. We came out of the woodland just east of Yarmouth right onto the beach and were met with these fallen trees in the water, which was very calm and clear it felt more like we were in mangroves.
So, 8.20hrs today gave us an 18hr total for 70ish miles, tough but definitely well worth it :-)
