Broadgreen House

Not too far away from where I live - just down the road in fact - is this rather gorgeous old 'gentleman's residence'. As Kiwi buildings go, it's old - built in the mid 1800's (though that won't seem very old to anyone living in many other blip spots around the world!) Not only is it a lovely old colonial house but it's also renown for it's extensive rose gardens , which I took a walk around this afternoon. How I wish I could include the amazing smell of hundreds of rose bushes here with the picture.....amazing!
