Desert Wheatear(male)Oenanthe deserti

I think he knows he's magnificent! This male Desert Wheatear is showing off his distinctive black mask and black edged wings and is on this perch on the lookout for juicy caterpillars. To find Desert birds involves going off road (although this is not the true desert of Wahiba)and we are well off the beaten track, luckily my family enjoys this part so it's great to all go out together-see extra photos. Sometimes we don't see anyone all day! This is the wonder of Oman.
