Dancin’ in QLD rain!
It has absolutely chucked it down with rain today! Much cooler….20degrees!!
The morning started with UK work (urgent tender stuff) and then we decided seeing as the rain was set all day to drive 2 hours to Noosa Heads for lunch. Restaurants were packed to the brim, more to do with Christmas than the rain!! We found a really nice salad and pasta bar that did take away food, so we ordered and decided to sit under a palm tree on the beach (it was only spitting rain at this point) What a view we had and what a way to eat lunch much cheaper than table service and much nicer too!!
We had a good look around Noosa main town and then headed to Australia Zoo (rest in peace Steve Irwin). The rain wasn’t letting up but this didn’t put us off! We brought rather fetching plastic poncho’s and off we went. Thankfully my poncho was so big it covered my camera although at times it did get a few drips on it!!
I think for two hours we were the only ones there! We did have a moment though when a guy with his girlfriend talking loudly and clearly in Russian shoved his selfie stick into an enclosure to get up close to an animal…..I think the guy understood Chris’s blunt comment in English to him as he soon disappeared!! Selfie sticks need to be banned!!
Anyway we enjoyed a talk on Crocs, their habitat and what behaviours humans need to adopt when around a crocs territory. We really have enjoyed walking around in the pouring rain.
We are off out for a Japanese meal tonight and then afterwards Chris has work to do, but that’s OK, I will catch up with you lovely blippers J
