Satis House
Last night I went to book club - a week too early! I felt a bit of a klutz as I had my dates wrong and so came home again and will go again next week!
Added to the car woes yesterday we came home to find our power had tripped in our absence, and it tripped again last night. So today I got an electrician to come fix it but he could not find the problem. He tested every plug in the house and every circuit but they were all fine. It is worrying as if it happens when we are away we will come home to a smelly fridge and freezer.
I went to the hairdresser today which was very much overdue, and on the way there I always pass this house which I think is quite beautiful. It has a bit of a spooky feel to it, especially with those ominous clouds, and it reminded me of the house where Miss Haversham lived, and the literary among you will know that was called Satis House. This house is not really called Satis House, it is just what I like to call it!
As I got to our village I pass the Chelsea Football training grounds to get to our house, and today there was a large crowd of people standing around a car which was coming out, getting the occupant of the car to sign autographs. I realised by the size of the crowd that he was someone quite well known (usually there are one or two people there) but of course I did not recognise him as I don't follow football. So I came home and had to look up who it was on the Chelsea Football website - it was Gary Cahill, who I presume is quite well known? (Still means nothing to me!)
I now need to go make supper - Thomas broke up for the holidays yesterday and Adam is back home on Saturday, so the house is filling up again which means the fridge will be emptying at a rapid rate again.
