Special Gifts...
For a special niece.
December is shaping up to be a very expensive month (as ever) as, as well as Christmas, it includes 4 big birthdays (my best friend Agnes, David, Sis in law Ele and niece Jennifer.)
But this isn't just any old birthday of Jen's, it's her 21st. I can hardly believe it. It seems like yesterday she was born and we raced to the hospital Christmas Eve 1994 to meet her for the first time.
I remember holding this tiny little bundle and marvelling at her bright dark eyes as she stared back at me, so alert and inquisitive. It was hard to believe she'd only been in the world for 8 hours! I fell in love with her right then and there and looked forward to watching her grow and take her place in the world.
And here we are, almost 21 years later and I've enjoyed every minute of time that I have spent with her (even her drama-queen-crying-at-the-drop-of-a-hat phase!! :-)) I have had so much fun in her company and I'm so proud of her and the lovely young woman she's become.
Stoping now before I get teary eyed!
Talking of teary eyed, something arrived in the post this morning that had me crying......with laughter! Probably the best £20 I've spent in a long time. Not saying anything else at the moment but I expect you will see what I am talking about at some point over the weekend! :-))))
