Or thin film interference to give it the correct name.

I was always fascinated by the appearance of beautiful patterns after the rain. The same effect can be seen in soap bubbles. When I learned it was caused by the intereference of two coherent light waves reflecting off the top and bottom surfaces of a thin film of oil, it seemed even more magical.

I was up at 5:45 and won't be home till 9 tonight, so this is me playing around on my iPhone at Newcastle station.
