Aceh Spring

I find it surprising how Banda Aceh has sprung back to life after what was almost complete devastation 11 years ago. As we flew in the paddies were green and lush, town was a hive of activity with the Masjid Raya its centre point, tourists with surfboards were causing obstacles at the airport and the fried rice was pretty tasty.

The Acehnese could teach the world about resilience.
