Tractor factor
There was something about the juxtaposition of sleek cars racing past at this crossroad that seemed a bit incongruous. Perhaps I've become too urbanised lately.
I love speedy things, especially motorbikes - the memory of the amazing bikes roaring through town as they arrived for the Moto GP in Southern Spain still gives me goose bumps - but would jump at the chance to trundle along the hillside in this.
It wasn't until after I'd uploaded the photo that I noticed Superman in the grasses...now that's incongruous!
Earlier at Big Dance things were buzzing. A little Billy Elliot stole my heart.
He wasn't supposed to be there but I wasn't about to turn him away.
What a joy, so natural. There's a lovely age when boys are unselfconscious and their instinctive response to music wins through. Aaah but too often that natural self expression gets supressed. For some, sport becomes the legitimate outlet for physical agility.
Did we Get Scotland Dancing? I hope so...and perhaps brought a few more males on board in the process.
I snuck off a bit early determined to go Sofa shopping to a well known furniture outlet in the back of beyond - hence the photo above.
Having the MOST UNCOMFORTABLE sofa ever is no joke and I was on a mission to remedy it since I had some free time today.
Being car -less and with everyone I know with transport being out of town, I was pouring over bus maps when out of the blue, someone I'd lost contact with years ago made a surprise visit with his partner.
We'd both moved countries a few times, changed emails and so on. My being home today when he called, was a complete fluke.
We arranged to meet up later and I continued to Ikea the furniture shop.
...only, I didn't see a sofa I liked, that was affordable. As per usual I start to think of the plane tickets that could be bought, places to visit... and that the lumpy cushions are not really too bad after all.
Actual purchases :
hand towel, cheese grater, storage box, toilet brush! ...and some red plastic kitchen thingy's.
Did not need any of above and am NEVER going there again.
(said that last time)
So around 7pm I discover I'm stranded in the middle of nowhere (sorry Straiton but...???)- the buses had all stopped, being a Sunday.
After about 20 minutes and not a taxi in sight, someone else arrived at the bustop. She was as perturbed as a French girl with bags of frozen groceries can be at being stranded!
Fortunately a taxi driver eventually drove past and although he'd finished his shift, realised our plight, turned around and gave us a lift towards the city. Good man.
Had to rearrange meet up for tomorrow. Can't wait to catch up.
Finally came on to Blip and grinned ear to ear catching up with the escapades of Englishman (back) in Bandung - who is grinning ear to ear at being back in Indonesia (see how that works?)
The icing on today's cake...
(with apologies to a certain, lovely Italian fellow Blipper)
SPAIN WON !!!!! ALEGRIAS... spread the love!!!
