The Advent Market

Let's go check out the advent market in Old Linköping, mum said to me this morning. Old Linköping is an outdoor museum with old buildings, shops and sometimes actors dressed in old time clothes, playing the roles of people who used to live in our city in the 19th-early 20th century. There is ice cream (Mum? Can we have ice cream? -No, it's closed in winter) and we have been there several times for geocaching and just walking around.

Today, the place was packed with people. And dogs. And horses, for some reason. We navigated our way between the market stalls, me getting lots of Aw!s and Oh!s. We met a black dog named Simon who was friendly. Everything from hand made Santas in every size and material imaginable to herring burgers was on sale. Mum and I shared one, and it was delicious! We watched children and some adults dancing around the Christmas tree, singing traditional tunes. I particularly liked the "We are musicians" where you should first pretend to play a different instrument during the verse, and then hold hands and run around the tree during the refrain. And the "Small frogs..." I asked mum how come we didn't join in, and she said it would be too complicated... I would have rocked at "Small frogs..."

We couldn't go to the sweet shop to buy marshmallow Santas, because I am not allowed inside. I hope mum can somehow get us Santas for Christmas anyway....
