Waddesdon Christmas Fair

There has been a Christmas Fair running at Waddesdon Manor for the past three weeks.It has been very popular and certainly a crowd puller.  Today was the first time I had looked at the fair and there did seem to be some lovely things you could buy.  My purpose though was to take photographs for the Marketing Department.  I'm not sure I have what they wanted which was crowds of happy people bathed in the Christmas lIghts.  The difficulties are that photographs need light - lights only come on when it is dark - Christmas lights are not that plentiful or bright - flash destroys the whole concept and slow shutter creates movement.  There is plenty of colour when the House son-et-lumiere is running and I did put the camera on tripod to do some movement blur pics. (blue light on the tree is part of the changing colour display.)

If you want to look round the part of the Manor that is decorated you'll be hard pushed to get a ticket - despite the endless stream of visitors the numbers are controlled - I hate to think how crowded it would be otherwise.  Very worthwhile though so you had best get a ticket booked asap!
