twisted but not bitter

Woke up this morning to a grey drizzle. Not to be put off, we had breakfast packed wet weather gear and set off via the town for a walk around the lake. Got past the Lodore Hotel and could see the fields across to Grange flooded. Not wanting a repeat of a few years ago when we waded thigh deep through the floods we tuned back and caught the launch back to Keswick.
Fortified with cake and coffee we had a wander round town and walked back to the apartment.
Dog dried and snoring, roast dinner nearly ready and then it`s settle down to watch the footie.
I love the exposed roots of the trees around Derwentwater were the soil has bee eroded by the rising waters over the years
