Wicked

Today we intended to fly from Belfast to Wick via Edinburgh.  We got to Edinburgh okay, but the plane that was to take us to Wick was stranded by poor weather in Stornoway.  We had various flight delay messages until we were told at 5pm that the flight had been cancelled.  We had to get to our destination as we had focus groups to do starting at 9 am Monday morning.  So we picked up a hire car and set out on the long drive north.  Somewhere between Edinburgh and Inverness the snow came down heavily, high winds drifting it across the road.  We saw several cars that had ended up in the ditch but luckily we followed in slow convoy and eventually came down to lower ground at Inverness and clearer roads.  We got to out hotel in Halkirk just after midnight, exhausted.
