Wishes

I love this about Japan. Neighbourhoods really come together to create a warm community spirit. Here the local Children's Committee and Senior's Committee members are meeting in the shrine next door to make origami decorations and to write wishes to hang on the bamboo tree in preparation for Tanabata Day on July 7th. Kazuko is assisting Arthur in the foreground while I dangle the origami decoration I made. Who said you can't teach an old dog new tricks?
