Yellow Wagtail(Motacilla flava)

The Yellow Wagtail is an abundant passage migrant and winter visitor. He/she likes being near water as there are usually lots of insects to feed on. The temperature has dropped here considerably and yes, that means the mosquitoes are out in force! Good for insect eating birds, not good for me or anyone else who reacts badly to mozzie bites! Must not grumble as the sky is still blue and you can still swim in the sea and the birds are loving it and looking forward to a nice warm winter. So sorry if the weather is cold and wet where you are.
