Anything you can do, I can do better
My brief for Theia's Christmas present was 'something visual, with maybe lights/noises, but not too noisy'. Hmmm ok then.
I settled on this activity centre as I thought it's a safe place for her to sit, and there's plenty of things for her to look at and play with. The seat swivels 360 degrees so as she gets a bit bigger, she will be able to turn herself round to play with things. It's also height adjustable so it will grow with her.
I figured she may as well have it now as Christmas means nothing at that age and it will keep her occupied while my sister entertains Theo or gets on with something else.
Theo isn't jealous of his little sister, but he wants everything she has. He was pretty much off his bottle but because Theia has one, he cries for one too (though this is limited as much as possible). He climbed straight into this seat as soon as Theia was out of it, even though it's pink and he's way to big for it!
After lots of playing and lunch, they were both tired so went for a nap, which gave us a bit of peace and quiet to have a proper chat.
Mr A is away again today; I feel like I've hardly seen him this week and next week will be the same. He's in Germany next weekend, filming some stuff ahead of the Wolfsburg game.
This time of year is always busy for him, so we are looking forward to a break in the New Year.
We had planned to book a long weekend somewhere warm where we could just chill out and do nothing, but have ended up booking to go back to New York!
Using frequent flyer points and promotional discounts, we've bagged a bargain that's worked out cheaper than if we'd booked for the Canaries. Plus, we still have a good bit of money left on the currency card (which we were going to cash in) so spending money is sorted too!
We agreed not to buy each other anything for Christmas, and put the money towards a weekend away. I don't think we could have done better than a trip to New York!
