Little blue sailing craft..

At least that's  what they looked like to us. Washed up at the high tide mark 
today were lots of these. A search of google identified then as Velellas. They are tiny....just bigger than a thumb nail. usually they are in warmer waters and often in their spring they are found washed onto the west coast of the USA. The little clear piece on top acts as a sail as they float on top of the water.They have tiny tentacles to catch their prey but it does not sting humans as jelly fish can.
