Open up....

Today we spent the whole day drenching our herd of cows. They had drench put down their throat and on their back, and their tails trimed.

With the introduction of NAIT (National Animal Identifciation and Tracing) on the 1st July 2012, all cattle are required to be tagged with a NAIT under. So today we also had to put a new tag in each cow's ear - linking it to the NAIT scheme. These tags are shown as a white button in the cow's ear.

We had another lovely sunny day today, which is what we needed for the drench on the cow's back to dry.

Thank goodness that job is done for another year!
