Hawk in the rain

The rain set in after nine this morning. Dover sea area has Gale 8 to Storm 10 for later. Our local Kestrel looked very forlorn perched on the maritime pine across the road.

Very sorry to hear (amongst all the other terrible events) of the helicopter crash on Fox Glacier on NZ's South Island with the loss of seven lives. Whilst looking at the NZ Herald coverage came across amazing footage of a serac glacier collapse in the NZ Southern Alps. There is also lots on my website about the amazing Southern Alps, rainfall, glaciers, geology and tectonic activity.

Off to Deal to do the shopping now.
