More from the bay

A cold day with ice on the puddles. A keen wind. Sun and threatening clouds on the far horizons.

When I told John about yesterday's drenched Ketrel sitting in one of his trees tears came to his eyes. I can imagine him thinking, 'Oh hapless bird' and then 'Oh hapless man, what is become of you?'

An innovation is to play music from You Tube from my phone using the earphones his grand-daughter sent down. Today it was Paul Robeson to whom he used to listen during his days in the blitz with the Pacifist Service Units in the East End of London.

I did see the kestrel today, back in the tree, but looking a lot chirpier than yesterday.
