Rising

With all the rain brought by the lower trailing edge of Abigail followed in quick succession by the upper edge of Barney - the ground around here is totally saturated.
This stream is one of the overflow tributaries from Raise Beck that flows into the Lune - it run under our hard standing & then alongside the length of our garden before running through the woods and down to the river. For a lot of the year it's not even there - there needs to be a foot or so of water in the main channel before it breaks into ours- normally at best its a couple of foot wide little brook. Now however its become a fast flowing torrent - in the foreground is the remain of the little (never really needed) footbridge - washed away recently - it was physically tough to wade through today - quite a dramatic change.
The extra will strike a chord with anyone who's ever waded through a truly sodden field - fortunately I managed to stay on my feet & displayed (even if I do say so myself) admirable hopping skills!
