German trees...
I was quite taken by these wooden Christmas trees that I spotted on one of the German stalls in St. Ann's Square in Manchester. I got talking to the guy selling them. I couldn't place his accent. Turned out that he was English but had connections with France, Spain and India! But the best was the French lady selling delicious Macaron on King Street. She was from Brittany but had lived in England for a couple of years doing a flat share with a British girl from whom she'd had picked up her accent. Her English had a broad Glasgow twang.
