Es Kelapa Muda

I ticked off another item from my food research, 'es kelapa muda' (or 'es degan', which is the Javanese name) is a iced coconut drink very popular in Indonesia. Apparently CNN ranked it as the 19th most delicious drink in the world. I'd agree that it should be in the top 20. I loved it so much that after having a glass (for 3,000 IDR or £0.14), I got a second one to take away. Here's the lovely lady tying up my bag. It comes with quite a lot of coconut flesh so it's also a snack. I want more!

In the evening Riri took me to a famous sate/satay restaurant and we ordered a selection. It was all very tasty but it was the nasi goreng (fried rice) which stole the show.
