Nothing happens here...

The green light of death…

Turned on my Nikon D7100 for a Blip session and nothing happened.  The info window just said 'E' and that's a bad sign, compounded by a glowing green light on the rear of the case which stayed on regardless of the on/off switch.    Checked the power by replacing batteries - no change.  Replaced the SD cards - no change.  Changed the lens - no change.  OMG!

Time for an internet trawl.  It isn't an uncommon problem apparently and the Nikonians call it the green light of death.  That's reassuring.  The solution is to remove batteries and cards and leave it in a warm room for a couple of hours.  It is a last resort fix and I'm delighted to say it worked.  All caused by humidity/condensation apparently.  Pity really as I'd just about persuaded MrsDB and myself that I needed a new Nikon D810.
