Goit Stock Waterfall.

What a drop of rain can do!

This morning out vicar had posted a shot of the waterfall with a comment that only mountaineers or fools should try to access the waterfall on Harden Beck down Goit Stock.

We joined the fools and straight after church walked up to see the beck in spate and the water boiling over the waterfall.
It was worth it but a bit foolish as at one point the path was completely awash and therefore a climb of the slippery muddy bank was required. (See extra)

I have lived at both sides of the waterfall all my life,  (nearly 40 years in Harden and on the Cullingworth side up until being married) and I don't think I've ever seen it so full and 'boiling' over the rocks. Even so we reckon it had probably already gone down about a foot from it's highest level.

It's also ridiculously warm today -14C!
Lots of reports of flooding in the area. Hope all you local blippers are safe and dry.
