Long appointment

Had (what started off as) a routine obstetrician consultant's appointment this afternoon in the antenatal clinic.

After a long wait and a thorough check-up (baby is fine), I was sent upstairs to the Maternity Assessment Unit to have a bunch of checks as they're concerned I may be at risk of a deep vein thrombosis. They feel they are probably being over-cautious but, equally, it's better to be safe than sorry. Checks were all fine, just one more left to have - a leg scan which has been ordered as urgent. Told to keep feet up as much as possible until I get the results of the scan - easier said than done but will try.

Very late home... poor N was worried as I hadn't been able to speak to him as my phone signal was non-existent in the hospital.
