Flower? Fruit?

The broadleaf plant in our garden is doing something it's never done since we moved in three and a half years ago... it's sprouting flowers or fruit (we're not sure which).

We have no idea what the plant is but it's certainly interesting.

What is also amazing is that the nasturtiums are still flowering due to the mild weather we're having. You can just see them in the background.
