Brand new...
Mainly dry with the wind picking up through the day.
A lorry in with an 18 ton load of sugar beet shreds this morning from Peterborough. Didn't envy the drive back with an empty curtain sider in this wind.
Wee brother and the 2 herds busy branding the blackface gimmers before they go to the tup. This involves using a hot iron to mark the horn with a letter for the farm name and a number for the year they were born. It doesn't hurt them, but they take a bit of holding as they are straight off the hill.
Clipped the calves that came into the shed the other day. They get a strip along their spine to stop them sweating ,then a pour on wormer dose and an intra nasal pneumonia vaccine.
By tonight, the rain was starting and the wind was getting wilder. Time to batten down the hatches.
