Burnt Bums and Yummy Food
First of all...the picture - as mentioned yesterday - Ben came all dressed up as Hermes...We've never been so proud!!! This is him being our boat's figurehead - isn't he beautiful??!! Laughing whilst swimming is kind of a health and safety issue but it really couldn't be helped when faced with this sight and thankfully, as we're writing this, we obviously didn't drown.
So today consisted of more sailing...a brief glimpse of dolphins by Josh, Stef burning her bum and making an invisible burn bikini (beaut!) and Ben looking like an angry smurf burning all of his face, arms and feet by falling asleep in the sun (numpty!). Lots more Mythos and Metaxa consumed we are definitely in the holiday spirit.
Half way to our destination we anchored in a bay to have a well needed dip and cool down. Dwyer, Kyle, Stef and Ben swam to a pontoon to fashion some beautiful jumps, dives, or in Kyle's case freestyle falls! Despite Stef and Dwyer's envy of the other Greek girls' bodies and bikinis (bitches), we did manage to show off our synchronised (kind of) jumps together.... However, some of our swimming garments were more secure than others... after one jump the bay was filled by Stef's yelps of "I'm topless! I'm topless!!!"
We managed to make it to a Marina today and successfully get dolled up and go out - with the underlying necessity of a big television screen for Mr.W and the boys to watch England lose gallantly we found a nice little tavern next to the marina and ate copious amounts of Greek food. Literally never seen so much feta in our lives!! Our eyes were definitely bigger than our stomachs ordering between us at least 20 different plates of Greek delights including sardines, baked feta, greek salads which came with a whole slab of feta on top, fried zucchini, saganaki, pork and lamb souvlaki and squid - washed down with a couple of shots of ouzo NOM!! - all at the extortionate price of ?10 each! BARGAIN!
After, the kids were let loose to find a cocktail bar...we found something better....on the water front - an ice cream AND cocktail bar...YES a winning combination! Dwelody had Frozen Cosmopolitans that consisted of strawberry sorbet, rum, vodka, brown sugar and some other alcohol based yumminess we can't remember but damn it was good!
More tomorrow, much love!
Dwelody xx
